on Saturday Night January 23, 2010, Lot #1324
We
designed these 2 custom showboards for Karen McDougal,
the 1998 Playboy Playmate of the
Year and Playmate of the decade. This
car was given to her for her promotion of the Shelby Series
1 car. This car, along with Karen, and our showboards were
on the auction block Saturday
Night January 23, 2010, Lot #1324 and sold for $126,500

The
popularity of our boards at auctions has been very successful and
continues to grow where our designs can be seen at Barrett Jackson,
Russo-Steele, Mecum and many other auctions. In addition to the
showboards, we have designed the custom pictures that are displayed
on the large monitors and in the auction magazines, as well as our
custom postcards that accompanied many of the boards.
Some of
our work has included:
* The
design of many custom showboards. For specific clients,
we often carry a similar design theme for all of their vehicles
providing a common look and feel, aiding in brand recognition
for each owner. Most auction rules stipulate that the owners name
or business can NOT be on any displays or literature, thus, our
common theme approach lets everyone know that these vehicles were
together as part of the same collection. The showboards for each
owner all had similar layouts (brand recognition) that emphasized
the features of the diverse range of vehicles, along with the
auction day and lot information to help potential bidders know
when they were coming up. See the showboards below!
* The
design of thousands of custom, full color, 2 sided 3"x5"
and 5"x7" postcards with a similar picture
as the showboard on the front, including the auction day and lot
number, along with all of the technical information on the back.
These postcards are made available for bidders to take as they
walked the auction grounds during the pre auction time.
* The
design of thousands of pictures with a common background
that were used in the auction magazines, on the auction web site,
and were displayed on the big screens as the cars crossed the
auction block..
For
each of these collectors/traders, the goal was to have a common
theme for the showboards, postcards, and pictures, and to link
all of the vehicles together as being offered by the same collector-
Brand recognition!
